Everything about buying, activating and moving a 360 Gaussian Pro license — plus the third-party terms that come with the software. The End-User License Agreement bundled with the app (Legal button in the main window) is the binding version; this page explains it in plain language.

All prices include VAT. Purchases are sold and processed by Polar, our merchant of record — Polar is your seller, collects the tax, issues your invoice and handles refunds.

Every paid plan — including the one-time purchase — comes with two seats.

Two seats per purchase

One license key can be active on two machines at the same time. That covers the common cases: a desktop and a laptop, or a workstation at the office and one at home. It is one person's license, not a team license — keys are personal, so don't share, resell or publish them.

Activating on a computer uses one seat. If you try to activate on a third machine, Polar refuses with an activation-limit error — free a seat first.

Moving a license to another computer

Release a seat from the Polar customer portal: sign in with the email you bought with, open your license key, and deactivate the machine you no longer use. Then activate your key on the new computer as usual. This works even when the old machine is lost, wiped or otherwise out of reach.

The portal is also where you find your key, your invoices, your payment method and the cancel button.

What the one-time purchase covers

The €149 purchase is a perpetual license tied to major version 1:

Every 1.x release is free. 1.1, 1.2, 1.9 — all included, for as long as version 1 is developed. The key has no expiry date and is never revoked.
Version 2 will be a separate purchase. When 2.0 ships it is a new product; existing v1 owners will be offered upgrade pricing.
Your v1 license keeps working forever. If you skip the v2 purchase, every version 1 build stays fully licensed — nothing switches off, and past releases stay available for download.

This is the classic perpetual-license model: you are never forced to pay again to keep what you bought.

Subscriptions work the other way around: while a subscription is active it always unlocks the newest build, across major versions.

Activating

Buy → your key arrives by email (and appears in the Polar portal) → open 360 Gaussian Pro, click License, paste the key, click Activate. There is no account to create and no sign-in inside the app.

The app re-checks the key with Polar on each launch. That check sends your license key and your computer's hostname (used as the machine label you see in the portal) — nothing else. The result is stored encrypted on your own machine.

Working offline

You don't need to be online to work. If a launch check can't reach Polar, the app keeps honouring the last successful check for 14 days, and warns you as that window runs out. Past 14 days without a successful check it falls back to trial limits until it can validate again.

If a subscription lapses or a key is revoked, the app drops to trial mode at the next check. Your projects and outputs are untouched.

Refunds and cancellation

You can request a refund within 14 days of a purchase — contact us or use Polar, and Polar refunds your payment method. This also covers the EU statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for distance purchases. After 14 days a subscription is non-refundable, but you can cancel any time in the customer portal to stop future renewals; access runs to the end of the period you paid for. Your mandatory statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Your footage and your results

You own your input footage and everything you reconstruct with the app. You may use the results for any lawful purpose, including commercially — we claim no ownership of and no license to them, and nothing you process is ever uploaded to us. You are responsible for having the rights to the footage you process and for any privacy laws that apply to what it captures.

Use restrictions inherited from Segment Anything

Masking runs Meta's Segment Anything (SAM) model locally on your machine. Meta licenses SAM under its own SAM License, and those terms pass through to you. Under that license you may not use the SAM materials for:

military or warfare purposes, or anything subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR);
nuclear industries or applications;
espionage;
developing or using guns or illegal weapons.

Your use must also comply with applicable trade controls and sanctions, and with privacy and data-protection law. These restrictions are written into the app's EULA as well. If your work falls into any of those categories, don't use the masking step — and get your own legal advice about the rest of the pipeline.

Open-source and third-party components

360 Gaussian Pro bundles a lot of other people's excellent work, each under its own license — among others:

FFmpeg (LGPL v3) and ExifTool (Artistic / GPL), invoked as separate processes
Qt / PySide6 (LGPL v3) for the interface
COLMAP (BSD-3-Clause) in a self-built CUDA configuration, together with SuiteSparse (GPL / LGPL), Eigen (MPL-2.0), Ceres Solver (BSD) and further dependencies
PyTorch and torchvision (BSD-3-Clause), with NVIDIA CUDA, cuDNN and cuDSS runtimes under NVIDIA's licenses
Meta Segment Anything (SAM License) for masking, and XFeat (Apache-2.0) for the collision-mesh matching step
CPython 3.12 (PSF License) as the embedded runtime

Privacy in one line

Your footage, frames, masks and reconstructions never leave your computer. The app goes online only to check your license, check for updates, download the masking model once, and send one anonymous install ping. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
